Default Pinks All Out 2010

So it has been said the schedule is out.....

Joliet in June 25-26....This will be the year to get as many of us there as possible and put the show on that we do normally. I, for one, will be glad to get to that better "letter" class even if I know its not goin to get picked. I had that plan last year, but my electrical problems hindered that!

Shoot, some of us could get into the quick 8...LOL.

I know alot of peopel say good and bad things about this show, but it really doesnt matter, if any, or a few, of us can get on tv with it.....some good promotions for us!

What do you mean by better "letter" class? I'm not on the up and up with that show, but I wouldn't mind going at all.

They break down "classes" by 0.5 second sections, each having a letter designation. That way you never have a 7 sec car runnign a 10 sec car suring qualifying. Great move on their prat in making it much more entertaining.

Avg'd out USUALLY a low 10 sec grouping. they do not pick it by letter designation. It could overlap two letter designations if the grouping of cars is close enough. basically they go for the tightest grouping of 16 or 32 cars regardless of time, but the reason for picking low 10s so often is there is ALOT more of them than there are low 9 sec cars or high 12 sec cars. Usually.

Of course, they change the format about every year, but the basic description above has held true.

Watch Rte 66's site for when tickets will go on sale. Considering there is not another event close the entire year, I am guessing it will sell out extrememly quick (historically anywhere between 2-15 minutes).

Is there any way to know exactly when they will go on sale? I wonder if I can slow the car down enough to go 10.00.

I'm one of the "bad" comments people Mike is talking about for pinks. I think it's great for the racers but I think they are turning it into a circus. Run by a bunch of non-car guys is ruining it for me. They act like if a car breaks or puts liquid on the track that they did it on purpose just to "ruin their show". That's part of drag racing and "real" racers know that. Just my opinion and I won't be trying to get in again. I've tried 2 years in a row and couldn't even get an entry. I might go and support my fellow E85 racers, but I won't be racing there.

I couldnt agree with you more! This thing is run by "non car" guys, let alone racers that understand physics and stress/strain. Its ran like the racers are actors that are not supposed to have limits. The show is HEAVILY pushed to run you cars "all out" which to racers mean "on the ragged edge" which means on the verge of brakingparts, but whne it happens they get all bent that they are slowing the show.....they MUST understand every part within th emachine has a limit and that they are asking for everyone to run to that limit, or very near.

Maybe its a learn as they mistake.....or learn from mistakes...I dunno, but it dont seem to be getting better. Not after the "forced apology" episode...that was ridiculous.

However, I just thing this could be a good PR opportunity for the class...otherwise I might be wishy washy about trying to enter. You know me I usually am anyway....

but if I do, I dont plan to be in the F class this year!
